This is the village mosque beside Sultan Yacoub’s tomb. It has a Petra Qibla, copied from the Qibla that Sultan Yacoub adopted when he moved to the hills of Lebanon. See Sultan Yacoub’s Tomb for an explanation of the Qibla direction.
There are actually three mosques in this location.
- On top of the citadel: 33.644409, 35.859977 beside the tomb/shrine
- Older mosque in the lower village: 33.643846 35.840580
- A new mosque (1990s) attached to the old one in lower village that faces Mecca.
