Description:
The Cheraman Juma Masjid is a mosque in the Indian state of Kerala. There are those who claim that it was built in 629 CE, by Malik Dinar, an Arab propagator of Islam and a follower and contemporary of Islamic Prophet Muhammad. This mosque was renovated and totally reconstructed in the 11th century CE facing Mecca. The original qibla is unknown.
