According to a recent report by a Nabatataea.net reader, the
old train station in Damascus is no longer in operation. They
reported that when tehy visited the station (October 10, 2004)
that the tracks had all been removed, and that the locals said
that they were not going to be replaced. The photograph on the
right was taken from the train station, and the photo below shows
the area where the tracks have been removed from. This will have
been done in order to make way for the new staion.
