Nabataean camel caravans brought incense from southern
Arabia to the Greek and Roman Empires. Half way along the journey,
the Nabataeans started a secret hiding place where they could
store their supplies in a crack in a mountain. This hiding place
later developed into a small town, that eventually became their
capital city, Petra.
