| There is a small mosque and memorial building
near Salalah where locals claim that Job was buried. The photo
above was taken inside the building. Outside of this building
(right) is an older mosque that has crumbed over the years and
is now disused. Below this disused mosque is the foundation of
a still older mosque, built during or just after the time of
the prophet Muhammad. Locals say that this mosque points to Jerusalem.
Some claim this mosque points to ancient Petra, but since the
direction is very close to that of Jerusalem (100 miles) it is
impossible to determine if this is so. |

Above and below: Beside the modern mosque is
a hole in the ground with what looks like a footprint at the
bottom. This is claimed to be Job's footprint. On carefull examination
of enlarged photos it seems that this footprint has been created
in modern cement. |
