Beer Sheeba Line The rail line from Beer Sheba to Rafah was built by the British army during the First World War so it is not really a part of the Hejaz Railway. Work started in 1918 until July 1927. It continued to use the Turkish station infrastructure. (See Hejazmap9.html) On 2002 the School of Field Studies in Sede Boqer made a survey on the remains of the line up to Uja (now Nitzana) near the Israeli Egyptian border.
